We were able to load data into DWC with no issues. We can bring data in from any source using our Live Data Gateway but cannot find a way to read the data out of DWC. Any hints?
Hi @Ofir Gil! Welcome to the community!
At the moment access to modeled data is only possible from SAC (stories). We will open SQL access via a specific API schema where you can 'publish' certain models you created. These models will then be readable (select only) via SQL. The open SQL schema (called local schema in beta versions of DWC) is already open to access, CRUD SQL access is allowed there too!
So how do I connect? ODBC? JDBC? ODATA? REST?
Hi @Ofir Gil!
SQL access to the open SQL schema is possible via JDBC. For this you need the HANA client (driver), just like you would when connecting to an on premise HANA. Hope that helps!
Perfect! Thank you so much!
@Natasha Pirani : Thanks for the information. I tried to execute the following command but get an error message
java -jar ngdbc.jar
-c "SELECT 1 FROM DUMMY"
(of course all the parameters in brackets correspond to the local schema data from the DWC)
Thanks and regards
@Natasha Pirani : found it out myself, sorry :)
this part was missing, now it works:
@Sven Knoepfler no need to apologize!! I'm happy it worked out :)
Hi @Natasha Pirani ,
Can we connect SAP BODS to Data Warehouse cloud Local schema?
I haven't worked with SAP BODS myself yet, but as Data Services can talk ODBC / JDBC, I'd assume that you can connect via BODS to the DWC Open Schema. Have you tried it already?
Thanks @Jascha Kanngiesser for your reply
I tried to establish connection between BODS and DWC open schema . I am getting ODBC connectivity error.
Whenever i try to connect HANA systems from BODS, the default port will be 3xx15. Here the port number provided in Open schema is 24756.
I provided below details to connect DWC open schema from BODS,
HANA DB version : 2.x
Host name : zeus.hana.prod.eu-central-1.whitney.dbaas.ondemand.com
Port : 24756
